Ancillary ServicesServices through the Ancillary Services Division include behavior supports, nursing, occupational/physical/speech therapy and staff training and education. Ancillary Services are available to all MRDD eligible individuals in both supported living and community settings. Behavior Supports Behavior Support Services develops positive behavior programming that is consistent with the Ohio Department of MRDD Behavior Support Rule. The primary goal of Butler County Board of MRDD is to provide positive behavior supports to meet the health and safety needs of eligible individuals. Below are the services available through the referral process.
Nursing The Nursing department consists of eight full-time registered nurses and a medication tech. Nursing supports are available in both board operated day habilitation centers and the community. Nurses provide assistance to individuals and families in connecting with the medical community, act as a resource for information and monitor services provided by residential staff in the community. Nurses in the day habilitation centers provide direct support for individuals in attendance. For more information
call: Therapy Services The Butler County Board of MRDD has Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy as well as Counseling services available to the individuals and families being served by the agency. Speech and Language Therapy: Therapists provide communicative supports to individuals, children, and their families to promote functional communication skills across various environments. Occupational Therapy: This specialty assists individuals to functions in their environments. Therapists may also work on range of motion and flexibility. Physical Therapy: Therapists recommend and design orthopedic devices that will enhance stability and assist in movement. These devices may be walkers, canes, leg braces, wheelchairs, etc. The therapist will assist in fitting and training in the use of these devices. (Occupational and Physical Therapists focus on providing safe and effective environments for functional skills based on individual needs. Activities may include adaptive equipment, input on wheelchair needs, training, staff and range of motion.) Counseling Services: The focus is for personal growth and adjustment of the individual. This may involve individual as well as group activities. Techniques such as problem solving therapy, crisis intervention, anger management, and grief counseling are available. For more information
