The Butler County Board of MRDD is an equal opportunity employer and service provider. POSITION: SUPPORT COORDINATOR NATURE OF POSITION: This is a non-unit, professional position which provides and coordinates services to consumers with mental retardation or substantial developmental disabilities, in accordance with Ohio Department of MR/DD rules and agency policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include the coordination of supports for individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in all life areas including residential, vocational, social, financial, and community. Write Medicaid waiver applications; develop and monitor supported living environments; work with families and other community agencies; develop and coordinate Individual Service Plans; advocate for desired and needed supports; provide on-call services and respond to emergencies, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Associate’s degree required. Experience with community-based supports; ability to communicate well with consumers, families, local, state, and federal organizations; knowledge of community resources; ability to work flexible hours which include some evenings and weekends, as needed, and participate in on-call rotation; above average coordination skills; ability to work autonomously and be creative in developing new programs and securing supports. Valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving abstract required. APPLY TO: POSITION: PROGRAM SECRETARY NATURE OF POSITION: This is a bargaining unit position who will report to the Program Supervisor and will serve as clerical support for administrative and/or program staff. POSITION DUTIES: Produces typed copy from word processing and typewriter, written copy or dictation, involving correspondence, reports, etc. of technical or confidential nature, necessitating knowledge/use of special terminology, i.e., budgetary, medical, legal, scientific. Will compose correspondence. Relieves supervisor of some administrative tasks, i.e., prepares/follows up on outstanding business, sets up office procedures; does research, gathers statistics, prepares reports; maintains files, acts as liaison between supervisor and other administrators, coordinates details of meetings. May assign, train, coordinate, schedule, evaluate work of other staff. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent; two courses in typing (must word process 50 WPM); one course in office procedures; in‑house training in work processing; some knowledge of accounting; public relations experience. Must have current Ohio Driver's License and provide acceptable driving abstract. APPLY TO: POSITION: EARLY INTERVENTION SPECIALIST NATURE OF POSITION: The primary purpose of this position is to teach and facilitate learning in a wide variety of settings in such a manner as to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for children ages birth through two, consistent with licensing of ODMR/DD, Board policy, and developmentally appropriate practices. POSITION DUTIES: Plan for center and home visit environments; posts weekly agenda’s keeps playgroup progress / home visit notes; and other documentation as needed. Maintains assessments related to intake, IFSP, IEP, and general child performance. Designs, implements, and documents IFSP’s and IEP’s. Develops transition planning as children move between programs. Promotes communication with family, team, and school districts. Works with supervisors, coordinators, teachers, specialists, and HMG staff to promote agency/program mission. Participates in a variety of team meetings: Early Intervention, Collaborative, communication, department committee’s etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in related field. Hold or be eligible for Ohio Department of MR/DD Early Intervention Specialist certification. Must have valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving abstract. APPLY TO: Personnel Office POSITION: BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST POSITION DUTIES: Incumbent plans, develops, and implements programs designed to promote desired behavior in individuals referred, including the writing of behavioral goals and objectives. May provide behavior supports to individuals in contracted school district classrooms. Program implementation may involve direct interaction and/or consultative/training of others. Participate in Behavior Review Committee designed to ensure rights of individuals are maintained, and to provide broader resources in the development of behavior programs. Provides assistance and training to families, consumers, and staff the development of management systems. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Experience and knowledge of mental retardation and developmental disabilities essential. Must meet standards for Ohio Department of MR/DD professional certification and must hold Ohio Department of Education teaching certification in order to provide classroom support in school districts.
